Making a straight pipe for a friends wd45 and do not have a muffler or manifold close by to measure to find out the out side diameter of the inlet pipe that inserts into the manifold, so if anyone could help me out with the size would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I made mine out of thin wall stainless tubing  I used 3" it went over the outside of the manifold i bored out the manifold so it would breath i welded a strap on it and bolted it to the hole in the  manifold

i need to make this so he can change it back to a muffler if he wants to. I know the easiest way to do it would be to hack the bottom side of a muffler off and stick a chrome pipe on it and weld away but i have a crap load of exhaust pipe at work that is cheaper and easier for access then going to buy a muffler to cut up.

 should be 1 5/8" inlet

If possible make a drip edge for it so water won't run in the manifold

Allis Muffler is #70229531.

Here is a link to 'aftermarket' muffler AC-4.

It's I/D shows as 1 5/8", O/D "could be" 1 3/4"

thanks Gary, I tried to research it but all I get in the I.D. of 1 5/8''. I have a muffler to go off of now so I'll just take that to the shop and make it all according to the measurements of the muffler.

I just measured some manifolds I have for parts, 1.75" is the bore size of the manifold outlet.

yup ended up using 1.75 pipe that i bell flared and the bendix bender and then weld a 18'' long by 3'' wide exhaust tip, after that i took a 4'' section of 3'' pipe and expanded on end to 3.5'' and welded that to the bottom end of the tip for the clamp to bite against. Turned out nice and bolted on solid, kinda of thinking of making a few to sell.
