Hey there folks, I may have a line on an AD30, from what I have read on here, anyway.

Here are a few pics of it, I am sorry, I didn't take an overall wide shot of it.

Anyway, we have an HD7, that I used to run a lot as a kid, and this would be the perfect sister machine for it.  It has the 3-71 GM Detroit engine in it also.

Any idea of weight?  How many were produced?  Parts availability? etc?

Thanks,

Anthony

norms bible states that the AD30 weighed 22,700#
only made from 52-55  first # produced in 55' is #1281 so at least that many made.  that includes production of the AD40 as well.

same machine as ad40 but 3-71 instead of 4-71

AD, AD3, AD4 AD30, AD40, Forty-five, and model 45 all had the 10 inch pipe frames and 63 inch circles.  most parts from these models should interchange as they were updated versions of the same family.  going by serial #'s  i would say in excess of 8,000 units units of the AD family produced.

detroit motor parts are plentiful.   finding the grader parts will be tougher.

there is an AD40 near me I am trying to get.

Thanks Cal,

That does shed quite a bit of light on the situation.

Sounds like if I can get it bought for scrap or slightly below, with a loose motor, I should probably jump on it.  :-)
