When I built my wheelie bars I lifted the front as high as the rules for the lowest front end height for the places I was pulling and cut the bars and welded the pads setting in place on the shop floor.

It is also as imporant to have the pads at least 32 inches (MINIMUM) rearward from the center of the rear wheels to do any good !!!!!!!!!!!!  If you place your pads at 10 inches in height and only 24 inches rearward, you will easily upset the tractor. Farther back the better, up to a point of not being able to hook the sled chain.

Whatever you decide on just make sure they work.... Ours were built to 28" rubber specs and now we are  running 34" and they don't do what I like. We will re fab. this week.
