Im not sure how similar a 5 and a 7 are, but We have an fl5b at work and it is an awesome little machine. Has always performed great. Some of the little odd parts are getting hard to find. (Stuff to fix gauges mainly).

I have the FD5 machine since 1988 and has been a good machine and well worth it's cost as return on investment. They seems to be a rugged built machine with good features and best part lower cost to get into than CAT or some other machines .  I now wish I had picked up a FL5 back when I had bought the FD5 or soon after .

I used to own an FL9. It would be much the same just a touch bigger than the FL7. It was a very nice unit but being Italian made with metric hardware it was difficult to get even hydraulic hoses in a hurry. On the FL9 I found the operator's visibility to the front where the the work happens was not as good as on a Cat 931.

I have a 1987 FL7 with 4 in 1 bucket and have had it for over 10 years. Bought it with transmission out but found it cheap. Put new track adjuster seal in last year but other than that, it has been a great machine. Very fuel effecient and plenty of power. Have had trouble finding guages and  parts are not cheap but all in all I love it
