The hand clutch on my CA is hard to disengage at times.  At times, the lever operates smoothly and other times it seems to catch and requires more effort to disengage.  This is an erratic situation and has only happened a couple of times before yesterday.  I was bush hogging a field and it did it about 1/3 of the time.
It seems like the lever is hanging up against a stop, but extra effort will release the clutch.  I hate to pull the final to check things out.  Any ideas what the trouble is or is this someting that is not that unusual?
Thanks,
Guyton

Some things come to mind:
1. Check your adjustment between the actuator and clutch; should be approx 0.040" (feeler gage or 0.035 weling wire will work). You can adjust by backing out the set screw on the cog and turning the cog with a large screwdriver/flat pry bar.
2. The Throw Out bearing on the clutch actuator may be hanging up.
3. The clutch pack may be gunked up or worn, especially the balls/seats.
