Fighting the power director on my "farm stock" 190 puller, it slips in high, and possibily low...anyways, ran across this video on youtube today, maybe its someone on the forum, but what was it he shifted? Was it the power director? I cant beleive it would handle that much power. Hoping someone knows! the way he jerked it, makes me think it's a mechanical 2 speed like a D19. Maybe a lenco was added in the torque tube. I have heard of that, but never seen it.

I wonder if that's Brice Terry's old 190 (looks like it), if so it was sold a couple of years ago to a puller and the power director was revamped by Mack and was relocated to the left and worked smooth like the IH torques. It was very slick. Doyle

It looked to me like he would have been better off in that pull, to leave it on the low side since he powered out almost as soon as he shifted up.

I see lenco has two different styles of two speeds, says can be used for pulling, now I wonder what it would take to put one of them in?

Ever been to a drag boat race and seen the rooster tail jump up about half way through the run? That's a lenco. I think the boats use an air shifted Lenco.

For the power director what side of it would be "direct drive", low or high? What percentage change is there when you shift it?

High side is direct drive and Low side is underdrive of about 20%.

This is my old tractor it is the stock power director with a valve in line to eliminate the neutral position.I bought the tractor from Missouri with a gas 348cubic inch engine and it took me 2 years to build the 301 you see in the video.

Great! Thanks! Mack is on here a lot. Surprised he hasn't chimed in yet. So a pd can handle this much power im interested in doing this..

Carl, the engine was set up to run in 3000rpm class,this is the reason I kept the power director,if you go much higher you must take the pd out.The 301 has head work with 426 valves,3000rpm can,7020 gutted intercooler,450head IJ pump,lasered injectors.ALumuinum fly wheel,2disc crower clutch and new owner added ice box intercooler.Would run 8th gear in 5500lb class with 18.4x38's.Fun ride!!!!

You must have a good set of injectors to keep the pump head from seizing if you,re running a Roosa, i had a 180 setup similar but never did shift the PD in a pull , those little clutches will hold a bunch
