Is this the way they all are? You have to pull the pan to get the flywheel off? Well the tractor was split cause the clutch wouldn't hardly pull it around and the bosses son thought he would have me take a clean-up cut on the flywheel. I said, set the whole thing up on the boring mill and I can do it. He acted like I was crazy It made sense to me, no further tear down and I can swig a boring bar in there just enough to smooth out the clutch mating surface. So when this is separated from the fly wheel,  it seems to float fore and aft. I know what the pilot bearing is. My question is about the clutch itself. In the picture, with the tractor split, you can grab a hold of the pilot bearing or the whole clutch and move it front to back, up and down and side to side. The up down and side to side movement would be controlled by the pilot bearing but, what controls front to back endplay?

| There realy is not front to back pressure as there are straight cut gears in trans and when clutch is engaged it pushes out as you know ( not like when you have a finger clutch pushing crank froward ). Give me a call today 717-451-6590.I am too busy on week days . |

The bosses son is taking it apart and I haven't seen back inside of the clutch yet. If I have any good question after seeing it apart, I'll post here or call next weekend. Thanks!
