I got the hydraulic hose on my WD45 rear lift cylinder tonight and filled it with oil so I could try the lift and try the loader. The loader came up first then the lift arms. When I pushed the control lever down nothing happened. Even with the lever down it still sounds like the hyd pump is still pumping. With the motor turned off I checked all the linkages and everything is moving as they should. an adjustment could be needed but everything is moving. It doesn't have a friction block on the quadrent so I can feel 3 positive stops when I move the hyd lever. Any ideas?Ouch

I just wanted to add that the rear lift doesn't go down either. I've been looking at the IT book and I think it's a problem with the hold valve. I've adjusted the linkage and the control valve screw but no luck yet. I'm afraid to drive it until I can get the pump to stop. Should I pull off the hold/control valve and clean it up? can parts be bought got the pump or valves?

I had that problem once, and it turned out a roll pin came out of the back linkage inside of the relief valve mech...
I'd post a picture, but I don't have it handy right now,,,

it could be a plunger in the pump   i had this happen once i pecked on the pump with a hammer and its been working now for about 15 yrs.

When it happened to me it was due to a sheared bolt in the in the Traction Booster linkage.

I see linkage from the tb to the valve on the pump that has a long slot. I assumed this slot would slide on a pin but I need to go look to see if this is just an adjustment.

I have read posts about screwing the front screw on the valve, all the way in and out a couple times to cure that???? Can't find the post now.

Thanks Charley. I'll try that this weekend. I need to let the loader down first to let the pressure off. Will the screw come all the way out or does it stop? When I get it working right I'll change the hyd fluid.

I have unscrewed the screw several times and tapped on the valve with a brass hammer I've unhooked all linkage and wiggled all the valves and still nothing. I noticed today that if I put alot of weight (me) on the 3pt it goes down and the loader goes higher and when I step off the 3pt the loader goes back to where it was. The pump still never quits putting out pressure when it's running.Ouch

One more thing. I can unscrew one of the plungers on the end and it would let the adjustment screw come out further. Would it let it unscrew all the way out? Should I just remove the pump and rebuild?

I would guess the unloading valve plunger is stuck. probably have to take it apart and clean it up.

Charley I snuck out to the shop for a few minutes and broke the 2 bolts loose that hold the valve on top. I wiggled it loose and still nothing happened so I know that the plunger in this valve is stuck. I'll pull it off as soon as I get a chance.

Update the adjustment screw in the valve on top was bent on the small area that goes inside the spring. I put it in a vice to straighten it and it broke off very easy. I need a new valve or the adjustment screw. I was able to retrieve the check ball with a magnet.
