My alis 180 has a hydraulic controled pto. It worked but slowed down and stopped completely. Fluid is full. Previously the hydraulic line from the center three lines that enter the front of the oil pan was turning and sheared the line. I replaced the line and prevented the cylinder from turning.

There is a clutch pack in there prolly an o ring or seal broke, , the 2 on the outside are for the brakes ,, may want to do a pressure check

Make sure the manual shifter (behind the battery box down where the clutch pedal pivot shaft is) is rotated counterclockwise as far as it can go.....have someone rotate the PTO shaft by hand while you shift it back into gear.

Yes, check the manual bell crank behind the battery box. This got me on my 180. I ended up making a turnbuckle setup to keep it in position.

Apparently the A-C engineers felt that when they went to hydraulic PTO that they could just remove the mechanical linkage and leave the sliding collar and bell crank in place...

Good luck,

On my 190XT with hydraulic engage, I put a lever on the shifter lever so I can disengage the pto when hooking up pto's that you can't turn by hand. Now I simply turn pto easily to hook up.
Hope your shifter lever is only disengaged.

My fix for the jumping sliding collar lever. I have no desire to rotate it by hand, it is easier to rotate the PTO shaft of the equipment.

Top, pivot point for the manual lever.

Bottom, the collar lever.

Complete view.

This keeps the lever in the locked position at all times. I made the turn buckle setup because it was easier to get the correct tension on it. Not loose, not too tight.

New to me 180 diesel (and to this site) is having PTO issue.
Seems to go into gear no prob.  When clutch is released out it comes.  Tried to hold into place with no effect.  If PTO not hooked up to anything it will stay in gear.
Did check to make sure bell crank is being moved into position.  There seemed to be a lot of end play in bell crank.
Are all 180's hyd PTO's?
Do not have owners manual but do have a service manual. Not sure if this is something that I can handle if I have to go deeper into housing.
Any and all help would be grateful.

If it is a single speed, drain PD and rear end then remove three bolts and pull PTO shaft out the back. Splines will be worn on front.
Linkage on 180 is junk and won't engauge all the way. Then starts jumping out and every time it jumps out it wears the end of PTO shaft.   MACK

Maybe a fix like what I did will hold the PTO in. I'm sure my splines have some wear. Since I made this modification, I have not had an issue in over 2 years of heavy PTO use.

I had one last year that an ear was broke off on the bellcrank inside, everytime it was engaged under a load it would jump out
