could someone post a pic of the throttle return spring on a WD? thinking mine was missing it but I ordered another one and now I don't remember how it goes on. I know the earlier WDs had one hooked from the drain cock to the governor rod by the carb, but I think there's another one. any help is appreciated. this is the spring I have: ------------- 1951 WD #78283, 1918 Case 28x50 Thresher #76738, Case Centennial B 2x16 Plow |

don't know about that but my WD has that spring hooked on draincock and choke.Nothing on throttle linkage.
Not so fast....The choke return is a different spring.That spring looks just like the one on my 45 with factory PS on throttle linkage.Can't find it in AGCOpartspage.Factory PS used different throttle linkage than my WD to get around that big unit. It looks like what they show for diesel linkage but don't show the spring.That spring actually helps hold the lever down on the quadrant for full throttle as the gov will try to close it. Had to add a spring to mine to keep at full rpm. The only spring on WD throttle linkage is on rt side under fuel tank just ahead of headlight bracket.Book calls it a compensator spring. Like the spring in your pic on my 45,it helps keep the throttle open.

ok I figured it out, the throttle spring is there I was thinking of a different spring. oh well I'm going to replace it anyway as it is the original one. I am missing the choke spring though anyone know where to get one? doesn't appear to be available aftermarket
