Hey everyone. I'm new here and this is my first post. Not too mechanically inclined, but I'm learning something new every chance I get. I took the blades off of the deck of my Deutz Allis 1616 to sharpen them. I put them back on in the exact same place, but now when I engage the PTO I can hear the blades striking each other occasionally (every 3-4 seconds). I have adjusted just about everything I can think of and still no luck. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to fix this issue???

Welcome to the Forum.

Double check to make sure each blade is centered in the arbor shaft. Also double check to make sure one of them isn't put on upside down. I've been there before myself.

+1 what Brian said.

Only other thing it could be is that one of them is slightly bent and you put it back on in another location from where it was. Most likly one is not centered or on upside down.

I doubt it could be this simple but look to see if the blades hit when you turn them by hand, if they do then move one of the blades (slip the belt) and see if the blades hit when you turn them again. It may be the blades are timed so they hit.

If this is a 3 blade deck, the front blade may be shorter than the 2 side blades so if the short blade isn't in the front center position they will hit . All overlapping blades I have seen have a timing belt to run them so they can not get out of time without the belt jumping a cog.

+1 on check your blade length. If there is an odd length blade, put it on the middle spindle.
