i have a 190xt and the pto turns all the time except when you push the clutch in i think the disengage lever is on the left side of the  floor board  no matter where you put the lever it keeps turning it moves up and down in the gear box  any help would great.

Just follow the linkage to the lever that goes into the Powerdirector housing , if thats all working, the sliding coupler is outa a wack inside

It is possible the (If the manual engage version had a brake), that the PTO brake is shot, some people use them to stop moving equipment, not what they were meant for.  If the brake is completely shot, it will turn.  If you hook a load to it, will it stay running, or will the PTO stop?

I agree with Doug, It has to be a linkage issue, and that could include internal parts!  Sorry for the bad news!

thanks for the info this old girl has been in a barn for the last 8 yrs new battery new fluids and filters she fired right up . so i cant be to upset thanks again for the info
