Just wondering if a styled and unstyled wc transmission are the same? I need a new gear shifter or probably a new tower and shifter.

The shift lever is different, a styled shifter will hit the gas tank support on an unstyled tractor when in 1st and 3rd. The housing is also different. Styled tranny has the fill plug in the right front corner and the unstyled has it on the right in the center. The frame rail toolbox would block the fill hole on an unstyled tractor.
All the inards will be the same and the shifter can be switched from one to the other.

Ok I need a unstyled gearshift or an unstyled shifttower with a gearshift. I welded the groove up and cut a new groove in mine and got all the slop out and made a new pin. I got it all back together and it all worked perfect. I shifted it in all gears and the reverse lockout worked good then I shifted from 2nd to first and the shifter broke off right at the ball. I didn't force it just pushed it forward and it broke. I even wiggled the input shaft to make it go in all the gears easy with out force. Did I get it too hot when I welded the groove shut?

I cut the bottom 3 inches or so off my original unstyled shifter cause of the rust. I then cut the top off the styled shifter parts donor and welded the old lever on the donor bottom. I still have the slop back and forth but the original ball was GONE. Hope mine don't breakShocked
