yet another newbie here, and i want to start out saying thanks to ALL for the wealth of information here!!!  charlie tucker, bill long, dick L and of course shameless are lucky i'm so far away here in southern california or i'd be making a real pest of myself dropping by with an eager ear.
i plan to "earn my keep" here by using the donate button (did) and documenting my stumbling adventures with my first rehab.  i got a 1952 CA recently with functional but glitchy hydraulics lifting a gannon "earthcavator".  did some preliminary earth moving and scraped a new 600' curving driveway and set the hook deeply.  i am alllll orange now!!!
first task was to cure the leaks at the ends of the rams.  first time dealing with hydraulics of any kind but new seals (and hoses to avoid a future disater) and now i can park the blade within an inch of where i want and keep it there.  yahoo!
gonna attempt to load one of the few pictures i have on this computer as a test.  i have many from all angles elsewhere and will gladly take & post any details per request. but for now... this is a test.  hmm. too big. but now i know for future reference.
all for now, i'll start new strings for each of the questions i have.  again, thanks all!!!

Looks like you got yourself one to learn on. Have fun and ask all you want. You may or may not get the answer but many are more than willing to share with what they have been into. May I suggest you find a pail or somthing to put over that seat spring to set on to drive it around.  Smile

uhh... great idea, dick, but i think i'll just put the bucket seat back on...
right now i've removed floorboard to inspect newly cleaned up hydraulic system and check for leaks.  found one and cured it with an o-ring.  now system appears to be tight!

Welcome to the forum. Dick L already made the seat comment, so guess I'll have to wait for another opening to get in a "welcome dig". LOL God Bless.
When your to the point, there are several vendors on this site that can help with needed parts.

Welcome.  I've also got a 1952 CA.  Like Cap'n Dana says, it's a great mowing tractor too as I've also got a Woods L-306 on my CA.  You'll enjoy it.

DON!!!
Get out now! You will get hooked and it all starts with just one tractor and before you know it you will have a barn full on them and then you will build a new barn and them you will find more tractors and a new barn and on and on. So stop; Sale the CA, get some art stuff (maybe some painting stuff) and you will be money ahead. lmao
OK if you have one tractor now then it's to late for you too.
So welcome aboard.

(i teach high school.)  i'll even offer a guest drive on the CA - no one else (including joyce) even gets to touch it.  ramona as in the ramona pageant?  east of hemet, i think?

No south in san Diego. My nephew is the quarterback for vista murrieta so I get to go up there every Friday during football season. That would be cool to come up and check out the collection. It could kinda be one of those goto's I hear about
