I happened along a D-15 Industrial without the shuttle. Just a standard 4 speed tranny with reverse and no power director clutch. I didn't know they made any version of these tractors completely without any power director. There is just a 2 piece collar with the appropriate splines bolted together. Is this just my first seeing this or are they really uncommon?

Gilbert Vust has a D-17 Industrial without a shuttle or power director. In fact his tractor has no hydraulics of any type. Price book lists power director or shuttle as an option.

I think it is common when pullers delete the PD, been told you use 2 of the splined nubs bolted together and away you go.

A closer look reveals that the outer shaft and bearing support were not used so only the inner shaft from the torque housing is driving the transmision. What makes all this so crazy is when I pulled the shifter cover off the tranny to inspect the gears the shifter was broken ane soldered back together along the detent section and the first gear shifting dogs were worn down to near nubs with points on the tips rather than the nearly 3/8" thinkness they were made with. The clutch disc center was nearly ripped out of the friction section and the flywheel has at least a 1/4" deep wear groove in it. Enough wear that the outside edge of the disc was rubbing the outer edge of the flywheel. With all th eshifting and wear inside the tranny I can only bet that the user wished this tractor had been equiped with a shuttle. The odd thing I found is that the ring gear and especially the pinion look good from the first inspectionand running my hand across it. I would have gotten pics but my camera battery died.
