I have a model D motor grader, model WD266394GA, sn D3919, have taken the motor out to rebuild and noticed the flywheel has several cracks, have read that cracks are not a big deal.  Just resurface and put back in.  Thoughts and/or ideas are appreciated.  Is this a 1939?

That would be a 1954 model. The W 226 engine is the same as used in the WD45 farm tractor. According to the farm equipment section comments, cracks in the flywheel are not uncommon. If you need another flywheel there should be lots of WD45 or D17 parts tractors that can be a donor.
