I was out plowing the garden today when the WD got stuck in gear, can't shift into neutral. It has shifted hard since I've owned it, so I pulled the shift tower, the trans gears look good and slide like I think they should. Pulled the shift lever out, 2 snap rings, washer, the shift lever pin is ok, not much play, but I don't know about the lever end. The service manual has no decent picture of it, couldn't find a picture of one during a search here. Anybody have a picture of what of a correct shifter end they could post. Anybody sell rebuilt shifters, I have no welding capabilities.

I had the same problem quite a few years ago. I would take the whole shifter assembly off and slide the gears into netural and and get the shifting forks realigned and put it back together. That would last for as long as I was remembering to shift very gently but soon enough I would forget and it would happen again.
I finally got tired of doing that nonsense and got a whole diferent shifter assembly from a salveged parts WD and haven't had a problem yet and it was a lot easier than building up the shifter end. Dennis.
