There is a pretty great set of pulls put on at our Grange Fair by alot of dedicated guys and gals.....here are some pics....including some with pieces. Those big aircraft engines just have a cool factor as far as I'm concerned. There is a guy just north of Des Moines Ia that has a Rolls Royce (it's either a Merlin or Griffon) engine in his modified. That Rolls Royce makes every bit as much noise as 3 Chevys or 2 Hemi's. Lots more than the V1710. The drawback seems to be they're tempramental. There's one that comes to the Ia State Fair every year that runs a Packard 2490 V12. Same engine that powered WW2 PT boats. I don't think I've ever seen him do well. Seems like it always sneezes and falls on its nose.
