Hey guys.At what point do you feel blow by is to bad and time for a rebuild?I recently purchased a compact ford 1600 to do light work and it will drip a little oil from around the dip stick when it is pulled out.Not sure if that is really bad or not.Tractor seems to have plenty of power for its size, just wanted a few opinions and yes I still have my Allis WD wide front too.Thanks.......Terry.

I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder.

all diesels will have a little blow by, a small stream is ok, as the stream gets more white, and really starts to have volume to it, or it really looks like it's puffing, that is the time to get concerned.  I.E bigger cloud under the tractor than above it!  :-)  As for why it is dripping oil, it might be becasue the breather pipe/hose is plugged.

Excess oil consumption would be biggest indicater whether to tear down or not.Light work is a plus. My 220 had lots of blowby but still had good power for field work and used about a gallon in 50hrs.Got concerned it would puke when trying to put the crop in so overhauled it.Had at least 2 stuck compression rings on every cylinder.
