I have a 1948 Allis Chalmers WD serial # WD6610 that I plan on getting restored. I'm looking for a pan seat for it, and noticed there's ones out there with 3 holes, 5 holes and 9 holes. Which one would be correct for a 1948 WD? or doesn't it matter?

I've noticed reproduction pan seats usually have 9 holes, but i'm worried they're more of a universal pan seat than a true Allis Chalmers seat. Any experience with reproduction parts?

Thanks,
Steve

Hey Steve! Welcom to the forum. You have come to a very good place for anything Allis Chalmers.
My 1954 WD45 has the original pan seat, and has 5 holes. Not sure how different it is from the WD line. Hope that helps a little. Sure other will chime in as well.
Jeff

I  have a 1948 "WD" serial number 5109--which is kept at an undisclosed, secure location--will check later--don't really know since it has a padded seat cover on the pan seat (which  is original).

My old WD, both WD45's and the WD45 D all have the 3 hole seat.

I just got back from checking my 1948 "WD" serial number 5109--it has 3 holes in the seat.

I looked in Norms book, appears the 3 hole seat pan is standard. Most all the photos within the section on WD / WD45 have 3 holes in the seat. Guess mine is not stock!
