          | I was at our local AGCO dealer yesterday, and was told that you can no longer get a nelson muffler anymore.  They have a stanley muffler that looks like the nelson.  Have any of you used these mufflers?  I was wondering if they sound like the old nelson or not.  For the price they want for it would be nice to know.  Thanks |

          | Stanley mufflers are not as long lasting as the Nelson.  They are also louder than the Nelson. Shop around.  Most farm supply stores have them.

          | The Stanley mufflers just don't sound the same. Walker was still making original style/sound mufflers last I knew.

Are you taking about the original style ones that use the bolt holes in the manifold?

          | I put a Stanley on my D17 back in 1993 and it's had a 3 more since then. Back in 1992 I put a Nelson on Dad's D17 and it's still there. Dad's D17 see more work time as it has a loader but mine does raking and I used to disc with it. Nelson is tough to beat and might be worth thr extra money if it's a tractor you use.
