I have never seen a new set of cylinder bars so I am curious as to how much wear is okay.  I have flipped the bars around and used it a year and a half like that -- around 400 acres of corn and soybeans.  The bars are rather flat and the teeth are about 3/8" high or a little less.  It is time to get a set of hard faced bars from St. John's Welding?

Thanks - Alex

Sounds like they are worn out.   The leading edge and the crown are the important parts.  they will still work, but takes much more power to do the job.
