I am trying to clean rebuilt my C carb. It is a Zenith 8581 according to the tag. I tried to get the main jet out, but it won't come out, now I can not even grab it with a screw driver now...any suggestions on:
1. How to get it out with out ruining the lower part of the carb?
2. Where can I get a new main jet?
Thanks

Mike ! I did a quick look up on that carb number , wasn`t on my list, but 8561 was there for 1940 B . ac number was 206989. .. Try Albert for the jet 1-800-589-2426 .. Tony

Try heating around the area with one of those little butane blazer torches and make sure you have the exact fitting screw driver if you have to grind tip. Then use water based valve grinding compound or screw grab to ensure you don't slip and bugger it. I can always tell when somebody has been into a carb because they don't use the proper tools and bugger the hardware.

The jet is so stuck that it is already buggered BIG time..no way a screw driver can take it out now...Tony it might be an 8561 carb...hard to tell for sure. This is off a 1942 tractor.

Might be easy out time then. Still I would heat it gently.
