I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me the horsepower of a 1951 WD Allis Chalmers?

wd with a freeman model 90 trip loader, wd45, 38 unstylled wc, b 10 garden tractor and 2-14 ac trip plow. grandpa has a 56 wd45. wd. allis chalmers snap coupler blade and 3 bottom snap coupler plow

I had our '53 on a PTO dyno once, 38 hp.

I have pulled a 7 shank all purpose plow with absolutely no problem. Also a 5foot bush hog with the same success

I was just looking at tractordata.com. They list the WD hydraulic pressure at 1200psi. Multiply by 3.8 and you would be close.

Old mechanic that I worked with at the AC dealer told me later WDs had a slightly taller piston than the early ones. The early pistons were completely flat while the later pistons were about an 1/8" taller and were beveled around the edges. All I've ever seen are the beveled ones on a WD. Old WCs had flat cast iron pistons that I've run into from time to time. Might be why there is a power difference. My Dad had 2 WD's (a 1950 and a 1952) and he always said the the 52 seems more powerful. I have the 52 and have completely went through it from one end to the other. It had the standard bore beveled pistons. My brother has the 50 WD but it hasn't ever been apart since Dad owned it.
