I got a  phone call last night from a good buddy who had just been to our local tractor salvage yard. He was pretty upset at what he saw at our local tractor salvage yard. We have been getting parts there for quite a few years. They had a lot of Allis including 4 styled WF's and a complete D21.  They had just finished busting up for scrap ALL the old tractors they had. There were over 200 of them including a 1927 Wallis that was more or less complete. They had a large shredder in and totalled everything.  It would have been nice if they had let our local tractor club know of their intention so that we could have saved some of the pieces. I tried to buy the Wallis and a WF from them last year and they wouldn't sell them to me!!
I have picked quite a few Allis parts from there for guys on this forum. Well, the supply is gone! GRRRRRR!!

That's enough to make a guy sick to his stomach. I sure appreciate your efforts in saving some parts for us guys. Charlie

Wow...that is sad. What were they thinking???

I wish all those machine could have been saved or at least parted out.

The one that really gets me is the Wallis.

Scrap here is hitting $300/ton some days, the urge to cash out often over-rides the thinking of salvage parts.

I have had my eye on a crane. It weighs a bit over 20 tons. The dumb thing is worth almost $4 - 6000 as scrap. Way past my toy budget.

I hate like heck to see that myself but stuff just isn't selling so people are scraping. I couldn't sell a complete CA on here for 750.00 so I knocked it in the head myself. Kept a few parts, sold a few and the rest will go.

The more that China gets ,the less of those model's are around .Should help keep price up on the Common tractors that are sitting every where. . Now that should make the common tractor collector HAPPY.
Some more should try buying and then parting out tractors ,would not take long to see how hard it is to sell to the cheap  guys that think you should help them out with their hobby. On the other hand there is a bunch of guys that are happy that you have something that is hard to find. Thanks for sharing.LOL

friend of mine was going to scrap out two wd's and one has a loader. told him I would be interested for I hated to see them scraped even though I am a scrapper. I could probably take two and make one, then part out then scrap what is left. wanted 600.00 for both.

i realy hate the people that scrap out antiques. we have a john deere plow that is in horrible condition and i wont scrap it just because it is history, here it is about $260-$290 for prepaired scrap.
