I have a 53' WD and I am going to put new bearings and seals in my narrow front. I was wondering what size of gear poller to use to get the worm gear off of the top of shaft or is there a better way to do this?        thanks Josh Day

I think I put my WC shaft in a press at work and pushed it out. I had to make a new shaft for mine.

There is a bolt on the bottom of the spindle housing that you remove then you can pull the gear and shaft straight up and out.

For some reason I had the input steering shaft in mind.

Probably because he said he wanted to get the worm gear out, but since he was wanting to replace the seals I figuired he was talking about the verticle shaft.
