I've got a 5020 and a 60" belly mower, a 60" tiller and a 60" flail mower for it and they work just fine but it's a little light in the front end needs some weight. The only problem i've had is the radiator getting limed up and had to be rodded out.

I have a 5030 which is very similar and have found it to be a great little tractor - my wife loves it. I have to agree - they are light in the front and I have added some weight that has helped a lot. Very handy, and have had little problem -- just goes and goes! The early models have 4 forward speeds with a high / low range for 8 speeds. The later models have a high/ med / low range for 12 speeds. The low is really low. --- but have used it bush hogging some hilly trails in our woods.

We have a 5020 and 5030 and the only thing that we find wrong with them is letting the little nephew run them out of fuel pain to get them primed up again Niel

Does the high/low range allow you to shift on the fly...like the D series? I've always thought they were neat compact tractors.

No - the hi / low range does not allow you to shift on the fly. It's like a transfer case in a truck ---- put it in the range you want to operate in, then you use the gear shifter to use the four speeds in that range.

I have a 5020 I use it with a 5ft finish mower,5 back blade,5ft tiller,5 ft disk,5ft brush hog. Its great on fuel I had to add about 100lbs of weight to the frount. Its a littel hard to find parts for. Like it was said above never let it run out of fuel and always fill the fuel filter when changing them they are hard to prime. The only thing I hate is its too fast in reverse high range. But their only as good as you treat them
