I would like to see some working pics and your oppionings on them. I would like to get a tractor this size but I would like to know your experiences with them. Ooo and i would be using it to cultivate my garden for the most part.The other options would be a farmall super a, 100,130,140. I don't have any pictures, but I do have a one bottom plow and a cultivator for mine. I use it to cultivate my sweet corn patch every year. I have a CA that gets to plow sometimes, disc the ground, blade the drive, run a 5' snap coupler bush hog, drag stuff around, plant rake and bale in the future. My 49 B sees little use other than a show once in a while. But after looking at some of the 3 pt hitch conversions on this site....I might put it back to doing a little work around the place . ------------- 1949 B 3930 Ford- Have owned other Orange ,green,red,yellow,dark green tractors and equipment. |

I have a 3pt from oktractor on my B, I mostly use it to pull a woods 6ft finish mower, but also use the back blade with it. I had a video of me pulling a 2 bottom dearborn plow but somehow it got lost :\

Friend uses his to run a pulley driven wood saw to make his firewood.Old school,looks scary to run, but he has all his fingers after 20+ years of doing it.

I have a 39 B that currently has a Woods L59 mower on it. I plan to sell the mower as I have a L306 on a WD, and put the snap coupler setup I have for a B on it and use it to blade the road with a snap coupler blade. They are fun to use. RW, You are talking about my favorate.
As stated above the B is a most dependable unit. If necessary it is easy to work on and parts are readily available. If you can find a B with a mounted one bottom plow, a mounted cultivator, and hydrallics it will easily fill you needs.
That said remember the B was last made in 1957 which means that it does not have all the nicetities of the newer tractors. I would be certain to get one with a starter - after 1942 - and hydrallics. The implements are out there just take some time to find.

I cultivate 4 ac. tobacco with my b. Also have a farmall cub and super a. I use the super a to sidedess with don't have a sidedresser for the B. The cub gets a little workout in the garden. The allis B is stouter than either of the farmalls. It will pull the plow deeper and faster if needed. Just give routine mantaince and don't let it set too long between uses. |

I use my B. Snow in the winter, Woods rear mount mower in the summer. I put a 3 point conversion on it, makes it very usefull.

Grandpa and my dad had a 1937 B. They had a pull type plow a spring tooth drag and cultivators. Was a great garden tractor. Good vision for cultivating. Grandpa built a blade that mounted on the cultivator from between the wheels. Work great for grading yards and drives and light snow plowing. Only bad point was no electric start. It had a bad mag and was a pain to start but ran great after it started.
