The other day in the post about messed up tin signs someone mentioned the copany selling them. I looked them up and wrote to them telling them the picture was a UC, listed as a U and had WC on the sign. He is their answer:
Charles, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am not sure how this was submitted and accepted in the product approval process with AC. We have to create printing plates once artwork approval is completed and we run 2000 of each design at a time. With this being said, we will make a not to fix the problem on the next print run, but it may take a while to run through the existing inventory.
I don't know how they submit to AC for approval since AC has been gone for some time. Maybe in the next couple years you will be able to buy a UC sign with UC printed on it.

That is cool. The WC badged UC had always been annoying me. But I'm a little curious about the whole approval by AC thing.

The might have had to get approval from Allis Chalmers Energy or possibly AGCO. It is something curious.

They knew aboul this problem 3 or 4 years ago before they sold the first one. We were going to buy a bunch to resell and when they sent us their coming soon info I wrote to them about the tractor being a UC and not a U, ( first batch was labeled as a U) then the second batch they change it to a WC, it will be another 2 years before they get it correct. I told them that I own a U, UC and a WC but I guess they didn't believe me.

David's correct, I called them several years ago as well. We have had this discussion probably 5 times since I've been around this site, but then that's been a while!! lol

So many companies have employee's that have no farm background, and have the power to make decisions, and they have no idea what they are looking at, except that it is red or orange,
