We had a 69 model I think, Dad bought it in 70, still have the receipt somewhere. It had the stolper cab, and was is south texas. It was a great tractor, I dont remember any problems with it, other than not big enough for what we were doing with it. That was the first tractor I was driving at age 7!

Seemed to be quite a few around my area. Here is a pic I've posted several times.  It's my brother's 1970 190XT Series III Landhandler. Not only do they have the best name ever given to a tractor it is also my favorite to drive. It so snappy and powerful and fuel efficient and the controls are set up better than any tractor built at the time. Agree 100% with you Lonn,just wish it had a true live PTO,there would'nt have been a tractor of any color have anyting on the series III

| When they built these they were on the right track , console control was xcellent ; I love a model 180 , good tough tractors , but when Im runnin one I always wish it was set up like a 190 ; you have to reach for the throttle , pd + pto, you woulda thought it coulda been done with console control |

Sorry BV, I read your post too fast I guess. I've only seen a couple late model straight 190's ever in my area. I think the price difference was so little and the power difference so great that the XT was the no brainer. My uncle had a 190 diesel.
According to Norm Swinford, there were 4,726 190's built and 27,145 190XT's built.
