I have been battleing a sliping clutch for the last 3 years on My 1953 WD.Have a #9 loader on it with a Bronco II snow plow mounted to it .The loader always wants to run up and down and wont park.When the the clutch seems to slip if I pull back on the hand clutch it seems better.The Y that the hand clutch comes back in to has a 7/16 tread try as i can cant un seize the treads.I noticed the leaver that hits the seat frame that goes down to the traction booster was tight against the seat frame.Dont get mad at Me but I notched it out with the torch.Now the loader holds were you want it but needs a little more adjustment for the hand clutch.Read the Board every day.Changed my name as there is more then one

Does the hand clutch pull back easy? If it does then you need to take some shims out of the clutch. Remove the battery box and the cover over the clutch. There is three places around the clutch that has a shim pack(unless all the adj. has been taken out). Take the packs out one at a time and remove 5 shims from each pack, reinstal the rest of the pack and tighten the two bolts at all three places. May need to remove more, but 5 is a good place to start. MACK

the Y you are talking about is probably the rock trip lever. Unless you're plowing, you really don't need it, and could have pulled the pin out below and removed it and put it on the shelf. It's only for when you are using a snap coupler implement and you hit a rock. The jar will pivot that lever and in turn pop the hand clutch forward, disengaging the drivetrain. Saves you from an abrupt jar into the steering wheel, and damage to the tractor and implement
