My D14 that I use at least weekly won't start. It was not running as well the last few weeks. Started hard, had to feather the choke way more than normal, lacked power, had to baby the clutch and just didn't sound like her old self. Gas flow from tank is good and I replaced the points and condenser and now it fires some but still won't start. Any sugestion on where I should start would be great thank.

Did you take out the plugs and dry them?  When it gets cold, gas doesn't vapoize, and will wet the plugs causing that problem.  I used to use a cigarette lighter, but quit smoking, so now I just use stick matches.

Could be your ignition coil went bad.

Battery good?  Need a good battery for ignition to function properly.  If plugs are wet then it's flooded or ignition is not working.  If you have good spark at the plugs and the plugs come out dry then it may be fuel issue.  Give it a shot of starting fluid and if it wants to run on that then you need to look at the carb.

I would say it sounds like a carb. issue. Maybe clean inside the carb and put a new carb kit in it.

Before you go tearing into the carb, check your ignition system first. Replace those used up points and condenser and then see how she runs...

Thanks guys. I have good spark so I guess now I have to take the carb to some one for a good cleaning and kit.
