It's getting cold out there, and it's going to get worse before it gets better, so, does anyone know if anybody makes a heat-houser for a 6000 series?
Also, does anyone know of a reasonably easy method for removing the steering knuckle bearing caps from a 6000 series FWA? Thanks, John.

Give them a call. They have more sizes than listed.

If you are talking about he pivots where the wheels turn to steer that is a tough one as I did it and took out shims to help take out the play. I took out the stud bolts then started with a hammer tapping them back and forth or turning them back and forth and trying to get penetrating oil worked in. I had the new parts to put in but never got that part of it apart so took out the shims and that helped, don't no if that is your problem. Took back the bearings as they was like $245.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I had the cap off this fall, just to see what was in there, and it was a bear to get off. The bottom one looks like it will be even more funner. I have a factory service manual, but it does not address merely replacing the bearings. It refers to removing the bearing caps as part of complete axle dis-assembly, and simply says "remove the three capscrews...remove king housing. Thanks for the heat houser links...wish I could find a cab for one of these 6060's.
