Hi Kids,
I'm the lucky owner of a D17 with a factory loader. I have need to replace rear tires, and my neighbor has 2 tires on 16.9x30 Massey 44 tractor rims.
Would these rims be interchangable?
I currently have 16.9x28 tires on the "orange". Your advice is greatly appreciated.

I'd say that you'd surely would have to use the 30 center. Are they spin-out rims or what?

I think they use the same center bolt pattern.Swap wheels and all.My neighbor has a couple 656? IH utilitytractors on 30in spinouts and they sure look like the same wheel bolt pattern.

You will probably need to set them all the way out to miss the fenders.

It has been a long time since I have seen a Massey, but didn't those have 9 bolt hubs? And the D17 8 bolt?

I think so too.....9 bolt holes versus 8 bolt holes.

The older Masseys had the 9 bolt pattern but when the M-F 65's etc came out they switched to the 8 bolt pattern the same as A-C and others. I have 38" power shifts on my D-17d iv and the centers are the same as and came from a M-F 65 High Arch. I swaped some rears with a guy that has 18.4 x 30 on two D-17iv's. Rears came from A-C 185's. Then there are the 26" Gleaner combine wheels that you see on a lot of A-C's. D-17's should have been built with 14.9 x 38's in my opinion. 13.6 x 38" were part of the High Clearance option on D-17's.

small wheels on the rear has been a huge setback on AC's over the years; often the reason for other colors showing up in the shed over AC's

Hi Guys and Gals,
So I took a look at the Massey 44 wheels.. the centers are very different than the Allis. They have solid centers with what may be an 8 bolt pattern around the outside of the center, and there is a clip like feature that bolts the actual rim and wheel to the center.
On the Allis, well.. you probably know.. they have these bars on them that go from the outside of the rim back to the inside of the rim along the length of a rim, someone suggested "spin out" and that would certainly look like it is that type.
I asked at my local tire shop about doing this, and apparantly there is some spacers that can be used to put the 16.9x30 tire and rim onto the Allis. On the Allis, there are some clips similar to that on the Massey, although there is a " T" shape to these clips, that bolt to the hub center and then on to the rim. On the Massey, they look like a piece of flatbar with 2 holes in it, one on the hub and another on the rim. ( I dont know if that difference matters, but I dont know for sure.) I didnt count the bolt patterns.. tomorrow I will take some pictures and post them so you can see what I am dealing with.

Tried to register serial number in database.. got OLE-DB error...so I cant do that today I guess... a bit more info...and link to picture..
3rd owner, Factor Loader , wide front, bought from farmer when we bought the farm. Never serviced prior to my purchase. replaced hyd. fittings, tuneup, manifold gaskets, Daily user for round bales, 12' cultivator, Sickle Mower, raised bed former, plowing snow, moving dirt, manure, digging trees and shrubs.
