I dropped everything this morning to go pick up a G a couple hours away - I've wanted one for a long time, but it seems like they're always torn apart in boxes and the seller still wants $2500 for it. This one allegedly ran 2 years ago and the engine is loose. Needs tires and fenders and some love. I do have the hood and the hand crank. The plow might be fun but I will be keeping my eye out for a cultivator setup for it. It's a 1948 and since the Gs are new to me I am sure I will have a lot of questions. Looks like there are different width toolbars for the G cultivators?

The sickle mower tractor is a 1951 B. I know there has been some mention of later Bs and CAs using the same torque tube, and this tractor is a good example of that (it has the threaded holes for the "CA" cultivator depth adjustment lever assembly). Supposedly the tractor got used once a year to mow with and then one year it was stuck enough that it wouldn't break free so it sat since. I need to scope the cylinders. Tires hold air but the rears look like they might split apart any day. Note the IH mag that someone installed.

The really rough one is a 1949 C with a B front half. It's obviously parts. I was happy to get the plow angle adjustment mechanism - I think all I need now is a C plow drawbar and a set of the drawbar brackets and I can mount my 2 way plow setup on one of my Cs. Not pictured is a late gas tank that may have originally come off of the B because it has the "dent" in it to clear the starter engagement linkage (I know we have also been discussing that with the other late B items).

I'm not sure the B and C are "treasure" but they at least aren't going to the scrap yard! Thanks. I thought I had a free pass to shirk farming responsibilities since we didn't get any rain for a month and it was over 100... The beans weren't very happy. But we got 2" of rain the other night and now I'm not so sure that I won't have to get the combine all set up.

Thanks! I am way too cheap to spend whatever those weights are going for these days, so if I end up needing it, you can bet I will get creative.

You can always mount a MIL seat in place of where the weight would go.  

I have avoided getting one of those so far in life, ha! Maybe just a good sturdy girlfriend?
