Im in the process of building a wd45 puller with a gleaner e engine im also planning on removing the hand clutch and using a button clutch with a 9 spring pressure plate. I will be in the 4000lbs class and using 14.9x28 tires. The rules for hitch height is 18 inches max im looking for ideas on what to use for a hitch and wheelie bars thanks

Text me at 319-360-4788 and I'll try and send you something. I don't have my WD anymore, but it had a very lightweight and strong drawbar on it to make 3500 lbs and pulled up to 5,000 lbs for 20 or more years. You have one drawbar dimension....18 inches high (to the actual hook contact point). There is a second dimension, and that is usually 18 inches back from the center of the rear wheel to the same hitch point. This takes using a plumb bob to get it positioned exactly RIGHT.  My WD drawbar began life by turning the drawbar bail brackets (under the rear end) around so they were narrow and (one bolt each) bolted a length (12 inches long??) of 3/8"x 2" x 2" angle iron extending rearward and made a hook/hitch plate to join the two angle irons together. Get the height right and weld the angle irons to the bail brackets. Now, use thick flat washers to move that hitch plate up or down to fine tune things.
