Friend of mine's Daughter posted a video yesterday on Facebook. Pulling out a 7580 that has been in the shed for 17 years. She thought it was sold in 1976. Most info says 1977 was the beginning year. Maroon body. I worked at the dealership that sold the tractor, but that was a LONG time ago! Suspect the fuel system might be one of his biggest problems after sitting that may years. Guess the old owner could no longer climb up there, so it remained parked and he finally passed away in the last year or so. I think Doug is a member here. so maybe he will chime in and supply some info.

Almost 300 were built in 1976. Nebraska testing was done in late October/Nov of 1976 using chassis s/n 1039.

I spoke on the phone with him briefly. He said it was sold in 1976 and the ser# was under 100. Maybe 1074 or 1076, I did not jot it down. Also told him I started this thread. and to get on here with his two cents worth.

Might not take too much to get it running.I bought a David Brown 1200 last year that was having a replacement motor installed  by the farmer owner, mostly had the installation done all about 20 years ago when he had a major stroke. It was sitting in an open front shed, hauled it home buttoned up the remaining things bled the fuel lines, after about 5 minutes of cranking and bleeding it fired right up,sounded like it had run the day before.

Good luck!!
If it didn’t have bio diesel while sitting the fuel system might have a chance to be good.
My brother bought a 7060 that had sat at least 15 years in a machine shed with biodiesel which gummed up the whole fuel system. Had to have the injection pump redone and cut open and clean the fuel tanks.

I had a d19 diesel (in a wd45) that sat the same time with premium diesel and it didn’t have fuel problems due to sitting.

Love to see pictures!!!
Would like to get a 7580 or 8550 someday, seems to be a really cool tractor!!

No idea on Facebook. I'm not going to put his Daughter's name on here. He did say the Grandson put a video somewhere labeled "barn find" and said it had 9000 views or such so far. Her Facebook video at first had a Twitter sign and then went to TokTok. I know nothing of either one. I've only dealt with YouTube.

I don't remember the fuel tank or tanks on that tractor. What ever it is, he says, the tractor was parked full of fuel. Looks like black coffee and he must deal with getting that out of there and disposal. We did not speak long, so I don't have much to offer.

Said the engine is not stuck. Will probably have the injectors and pump cleaned and checked. Squirt some type of lube in the cylinders while the injectors are out. Thats all I know folks. His Grandson is lining up trucking to get the tractor hauled to his house.

That’s not a good thought of having black coffee looking fuel…
Hopefully it comes out!!

The Daughter sent me a couple more short videos. One of pulling the 7580 in the shed and the other outside. I did find out they were posted on TikTok by iowafarmer840
Maybe someone has an account there and can find them. Think Doug mentioned "barn find" but who knows.

I tried to join TikTok on my home computer and email, but failed. Don't use my cell phone for that stuff and have no desire to learn. Thought I about had it, then something popped up and wanted me to scan it, so I gave up. No scanner on my computer. LOL

Only my friends and family have my cell number. My Doctor does not even get that number. Had the cell over 10 years and have had zero spam calls and plan on keeping it that way. Made it 70 years without a TikTok account, so no big deal to me. Haha!
