Hey guys it's me again.
Just wondering, am I the only 1 who enjoys restoring old equipment? Not just tractors, but all the equipment?
I have restored an Allis tedder Rake, corn picker, etc.. over the years. And really enjoyed the whole process. Especially using the equipment after its fixed up.
I'm entering a new season in life soon, and look forward to having time once again to fix Allis equipment and using it occasionally...

I enjoy the implements as much as the tractor. I think that's half the fun. I havee't went to the work yet to paint implements, but I've got several mechanically sound.
I've done my 10' disk, and a couple plows. I finished an Allis snap coupler rotary mower (bushhog) this year. That was a fun one.

Nearly finished with a #52 plow (interrupted by roof repair and other things). Also started on a Dunham-Lehr GC78 ground chief disc. CA associated planter and cultivator also partially started. Plow won't take but a day or two to finish. Hope to finish the disc this year, cultivator next year (has to be extricated from a pine tree growing around it). Diversion planned for a rear grader blade for the CA this year to get it ready for next winter (frozen, want it to be rotatable, cutting edge in bad shape, plan to make it dual 3-point and CA pin hitch compatible).

Haven't yet, still hope to do a few but age is catching up so I sold several implements to a younger neighbor. Still want to do a plow for my WD.

Yes sir, time and $ allowing! I too recently retired and hoping for a little restoration time in on a Mono 2000 plow. Perhaps on 2300 disk as well....

I always have a rotobaler in various states of repair. The nice thing about working on an implement is they tend to be a little cheaper to restore

Sounds like you need one with a power unit on it, that's frozen solid!

Except for sherman farm, no man can have too many rotobalers

The implements often intrigue me more than the tractor themselves: The tractor in most cases (at least for the antiquated stuff I primarily have) is just a means of locomotion and a way to get a PTO turning. Most of the interesting and unique stuff happens at the implement end.
Unfortunately I don't have many Allis implements. Have and use a 442 baler. Still have a 66 and 90 All-Crop, but they're now free to whoever wants them because I'm running out of storage space and was never really impressed with the All-Crops. Had three of the old Allis PTO rake/tedder units, but I sold them last summer. Is that the kind of rake you restored? I became pretty adept at sourcing parts for them. Even made a YouTube video for the guy who bought them to describe some of their peculiarities and how to source some parts:

I love working on implements! No engine to become stuck. Currently have an IH rotary hoe that is just about ready for service again. Probably 30+ years since it has been used. Once it's done I think the 78 Allis hay-rake will be next. Of course, me being me, there are many plow projects in progress at all times. Need to get going on the 546 Oliver. There is a 412 IH, (I think) semi-mount and a 16 pull type. Pretty sure my Allis plows are field ready or ready to part-out/scrap. If I were to get bored, there is an Allis 82 sickle mower out there.....

We now have 13 roto-balers. Started collecting implements years ago when they were cheap and couldn't afford tractors. We now have over 200 implements and over fifty tractors, except for few plows and disc everything is inside.

yea! the implements are about as much a part of this collecting thing as the tractors,, ya gots to have something for the tractor to do besides jus sit around an drive down the road.. or a yard ornament... thing is, sometimes the implement's are harder to find,, especially the ones that were made to go with the tractor,, ya know the dedicated stuff back in the day for WD's,B,C,CA,pin hitch-snap coupler stuff....or at least around here that stuff is difficult to find,, i gots to go mostly east/north of here to find that kinda stuff.... after 3 point became standard, jus about anything goes..
