Ordered a new nut for my D14 steering column. Replaced the steering wheel and wanted to replace the rusted nut. But it seams like it doesn’t like the steering column threads. Anyone know the thread size? The steering column threads don’t look damaged. I’m beginning to think the new nut is incorrect.

When I changed the wheel on my 15 it seems to me that the nut was some bastard thread. Been long enough ago I don't remember what it was. Mine was not in good shape either but I did manage to reuse it.

if I remember right, it’s something odd like a 13/16-20 ultra fine, I had to help my buddy Herb clean his up with a hacksaw blade because we couldn’t find a die anywhere
