Are all skid steer quick attach plates the same? I want to build a conversion for my Oliver 1610 to skid steer quick attach. Is the same size plate welded to the bucket, grapple or what ever implement? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Tracy. ------------- No greater gift than healthy grandkids! |

Pretty much... The plates vary by 1/2" in width, depending on who makes it.... Basically the "PLATE" on the implement is 45 inches wide and and has a 45 degree back angle at the top.... the part you weld to the tractor / 3 point / loader arms is about 44 inches wide and has a 45 POINT at the top of the plate.. The tractor end can be two parts or one big part.. I just did this on an old GEHL... Cut the back face of the bucket off and welded on the 45 inch wide PLATE... then cut the old GEHL quick hitch HOOKS off and adapted the UNIVERSAL QUICK HITCH to each boom arm... I used two different parts for the tractor.. one for each boom arm... you can buy ONE complete mount..
GOOGLE----------- Universal skid steer attachments follow the SAE J2513 standard, featuring a ~45-inch wide, 18.5-inch tall mounting plate with 1.25-inch tapered locking pins spaced ~31.6 inches apart. The top angle is 45°, while the bottom angle is 120°, designed to fit most modern loaders. Key specifications include a top hook-over, bottom pin-locking system, often with 5/16" or 1/2" steel.

this is the PLATE that welds to the bucket or forks..... there are normally 4 LOCK holes at the bottom.. the OUTER TWO will be used by most tractors and skid steers... the INNER two lock holes are if you put on a MINI SKID and the boom is only 24- 30 inches wide, you can still mount the BIG forks or BIG bucket. You dont need 1/2 inch thick plate... Im just showing this picture because it gave dimensions of the plate width / height / lock kholes.  ------------- Like them all, but love the "B"s. |

what i found out is the PLATE that welds to the BUCKET should tilt forward and not be VERTICAL.. I forget right now, but something like 20 degrees ??? That gives you room to curl the bucket BACK when loaded.... not a big deal on the FORKS as they normally run LEVEL and not a lot of tilt back needed.

5/16 inch thick is probably the standard if you got a small skid steer or tractor like 30 HP... If you got 40- 60 HP you go to the 3/8 inch think.... The 1/2 inch would be for a BIG tractor that your loading a couple tons ( 4000 #) in the bucket..

Actually there are 4 sizes that I know of. Smallest is the one that fits the 15 HP toro dingo, then there is the 30 HP ASV rc-30, then the weird bobcat proprietary one, then the full size one on bigger machines(above mentioned). I would go full size on anything tractor mounted. Check out Auctionzip.com, there are numerous auctions that sell the full size attachment plates, likely one close to you. For My ASV, I made a wooden template to mock up the male end, and used it to move the lower ears up, and weld them in a new spot, easy-peasy... ------------- Source: Babylon Bee.
