Hi All,

I've broken 2 leaf springs on my HD6, does anyone know if there is an aftermarket spring that can be purchased? I'm in New Zealand.

Is it possible to slide out the 2 broken ones and replace them without taking the whole leaf pack off? Any tips or tricks on the best way to do this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A good welder can repair them seen it done in the past .

Archers auto springs in Rotorua should be able to make you some new ones.
I had mine out last year; pin had been welded in; I ended up having to remove all the U bolts and slide spring pack out, leaving saddle in place.
Won,t matter if lower leaves are a heavier grade thickness, they need it.

Unlikely a welder could actually repair  it. Springs are usually 5160 steel and the welding operation would destroy the heat treat.
best to remove haul into spring shop, wait an hour, pay  some coins and be happy.

I've welded several main leafs back together to get back to a shop, or out of any impeding way. Never would I trust a weld repair to go back into service on this, or a truck type application.

I believe most any leaf spring shop can help you out easily. Years ago, I had a spring pack made up for an HD7 and I just pulled the complete assembly out and the spring shop built a new one while I waited.
