So on my 11x7 drill I am going over everything with lots of TLC before planting time.  The fertilizer area is in good condition considering how old the drill is.  My question is this.  With the gates fully closed, there is still this small opening.....is this normal?  If so, does the fertilizer normally "clump a little" and seal this off or is it always going to be dribbling out?  I checked and I don't see any binding and after a little lube everything functions smoothly.

Thoughts?

My thought: don’t run fertilizer through your drill.

You are free to do as you please.

Most likely I will not unless I need to. I figured since I am going through it before season, I would get it operating the way it should.
