All are gone currently, last one been gone two years now.  Wife and I were window cleaning where the Nose Rubs of the front door got her emotions up.  She asked if could get another Dog or cat.  Told her did not believe I was ready yet.  That was several weeks ago and she started up again.  So I explained she would have to give up a luxury, TV Time.

SHE gets a Cat or Dog, SHE will be the caretaker this time around, she sloughed it off last time as I was Retired, had time for Her Pet.  She would have to accept the losses for Her Time, not slipping all to me if SHE decides must have.  She will retire in 1 1/2 to 2 years.

Cats do not last around here, Coyotes and Coons, Dogs do not do well as Inside/Outside as to Skunk or getting into Cow discharges, outside only will also have the Coon or Skunk or Coyote issue unless really BIG, then have the RV time concern, as to who will take care of them as are gone, or how she will get the animal in or out of the truck, as well when leave for Bike haul trips and touring time, what to do with that pet.  She backed down again.

Come to find out a Co-worker has a Barn Cat that had kittens, NONE Vet seen yet, NONE De Flea bathed, NONE House broken, then she noted before could get one the coyotes got them all, But would have been 'Free'.

wife has a bout 10 outside cats... Yea, the oldest one is probably 2 years old... They dont lasts long outside.. People drop them off in the Country and they just come here for the food.. Only 1-2 will let her pet them, but they all stand in line every morning for the food..

Inside cats are several years old.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Having a pet is quite a responsibility both financially and time wise but the rewards can be tremendous, but it is not for everyone. You have made a wise decision in weighing the pros and cons before getting another one. My wife and I have had our black lab for 12 years and have had to make adjustments in our lives for her but have never regretted it a bit. She is spoiled rotten and my wife would toss me out of the house before she would her fur baby.

Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

We give up pets because my wife has family in Florida and when we retiered we would have to find someone to take care of the pet while we we gone. Yes hotel allow pets now for extra price but when you go for the day and don't get back till late then there is the mess ro have to cleanup.
