Hello,
My WD's shifter was sloppy in the shift tower and would spin all the way around, making it difficult to find some of the gears. Thanks to the forums and internet I was able to re-weld up some material on the shift ball and then cut a new channel, plus I added a pin and channel on the other side of the ball. The shifter works very nice now, however I don't understand the special washer that sits between the shift ball and snap ring. Mine didn-t have either when I went to take it apart.
