D14 reverse gear NO WORK'EE,,,

I have not had a need to use my D14 in some time until yesterday and my Son could not get it to go into Reverse,,,,!! He checked all the fluid levels and everything checked out but still will not go into Reverse,,,,!!

I checked out the gears when I did the total rebuilding, and all looked like new inside the housing. The transmission has never jumped out of gear and until now would slip into Reverse smooth as ,,,,,pie,,,

Anyone got a clue what issue might be keeping it from going into reverse,,,,???

The shift lever physically will not shift into reverse??? and you have actually used reverse gear in the recent past?? OR you've had the shift cover off and haven't used reverse until now ?? There are only two possibilities as per your description: #1. Your son needed to let up on the clutch a bit to get the gears to rotate and mesh...or #2. you didn't get the shift cover back on correctly. A broken shift fork should let the lever shift into reverse position but nothing...zero....zip....nadda.
