David Brown is an interesting company – they started as gear manufacturers, then Brown went into partnership with Harry Ferguson.  When Brown and Ferguson fell out, Ferguson made a deal with Henry Ford which is how the 3-point linkage was first introduced to the US. AFAIK David Brown eventually sold off their tractor manufacturing plants to Tenneco/ Case, but the parent company still makes industrial gears and gearboxes for ships, tanks and quarrying machinery at Huddersfield in the UK, vastly heavier capacity than automotive gearing.

I have an A.C. G. I'm not about to part with it.
I enjoy plowing with it. I have a pair of left & right plows for it. I've taken it to a plow day, a time or two.
And I've built a hand crank boom for it.
