Weather finally cleared so we could make first cutting hay. 2 fields of orchard grass and 4 fields of mixed hay. My brothers and I still do it the old fashion way, loading square bales on wagons is good exercise but will have to admit it’s getting a little harder each year. We are not spring chickens anymore except in our minds! Finishing up tomorrow doing some round baling.
Charlie’s XT ran the MoCo disc mower and on wagon duty

Even brought out the JD 70 Diesel to rake the last field to stretch her legs. My nephew said he finally got the hang of it. D15 series II did the trim mowing.

I always liked haying but probably wouldn't do very well handling bales at this point in life.

I love the pictures. They bring back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting them!

Very nice AC equipment! I miss haying time. Not much done around here any more. Maybe round balers to reduce labor requirements. Man the D17 looks nice. Almost makes me want to have ours refurbished. Getting to old and cant get our CA puller together!
Thanks for sharing these pictures!
Regards,
 Chris and Cheryl

We finally got some much needed rain about a month ago. 3.8” over 2 days, nice soaking rain. Going by 3 different weather apps we fertilized the day before expected rain was to start. Hit it just right and production numbers are up from last year at this time. No break downs and the trusty NH 273 never missed a knot. I know my D17 supposed be PO 1, but I prefer the PO 2. 6 months after its production, AC changed to PO 2
Thanks for the comments everyone

Very nice looking equipment, makes me rethink whether I want to figure out how to post pictures. We have been putting up small bale grass hay with the 7000 and 190XT, but we don't hand stack. Probably finish this weekend, the last field was cut Saturday. Going to do something new today thanks to this forum - we usually run the tedders on JD 4430s, but my brother has 2 of them down (torsional damper, fire) so I was able to get the three point adjusted and working on my 7000 so it can pull a tedder. I have used the 190XT before, but it doesn't have that 8 mph gear that we usually use.
