Hi all, I'm doing some reading, trying to get ready for the pulls this summer and I'm trying to figure out if I'd be further ahead to get more wheel weights, fill the tires with antifreeze/windshield washer fluid or possibly both. I had read that liquid filled tires can cause them to slip on the rim so I'm not too sure about doing that. Was also curious if you can run wheel weights and filled tires, having some trouble finding anything about it online My brother and I pull D17 's, his is a diesel and mines a gasser, I pull the 7500lb class and he in the 9000lb.

I hope they are series 3 or 4 models as the final drives are stronger on them. 9K on a D-17 ?? You'll never slip a tire on the rim if the tire bead and rim are in good condition. We used to run 7060's with 1600 lbs of cast iron on the rear wheels and full fluid in 20.8 x 38's tractors weighed 16K never an issue with anything.

Dr Allis, thank you for the reply, the gasser is a series 1, the diesel I believe is a series 2, I didn't know about the weakness of the final drives in the earlier series tractors, that'll have to be something we keep an eye on. And yes, 9000lb class, I can send you links to videos of it pulling, we do dead weight if that makes a difference. In regards to filled tires and weights, I was hoping you'd day something along that line, thank you for the imput
