Cannot find the article about using dryer sheets to control mice chewing on electrical wiring on tractors and trucks. Help would be appreciated-remember one brand was recommended. Thanks Leon

I think additional studies have shown that the dryer sheets have very limited effect.

I have used dryer sheets and moth balls in our fifth wheel. Still had mice.

Talk to local pest service, they rotate the ‘Cakes’ they leave in containers to desiccate the little vermin, uses Coumadin for a poison makes them bleed out internally. Other types of toxins for small rodents that are not readily absorbable except by eating so not bad for humans.

Used dryer sheets in combine, the mice made nice comfy nests out of them.

I’ve got an old Ford pickup that was my grandfather’s. He always had strawberry tree shaped air fresheners in it and you could smell them across the yard when he opened the door. After i inherited the pickup I continued to put a strawberry air freshener in it every once in awhile. I figured I’d sort of keep up the tradition. The pickup is stored in a machine shed that has mice in it and other trucks/equipment stored in the same building get mice infested occasionally. A few years ago I realized I’ve never had a mouse in Grandpas pickup. I know it’s not mouse tight. Only thing I can figure is they don’t like the strawberry air fresheners! I still throw a new strawberry scented tree in it a couple times a year especially after I realized that that’s what I think is keeping them out!

Ammonia will keep them away . Problem is it evaporates. I soak some sponges and keep them in rectangle shallow glad containers. I drilled 3/8" holes in the top . Sponges stay moist for about 2 weeks. Refresh every 2 weeks. Ammonia messes with there ability to smell. They don't like it and will look elsewhere for food. I keep a couple under my camper and so far so good. Seems like a lot if work but those little pos can do damage fast. Grampa gus is a brand of scent repellant that a friend swears by .

Do you have any kind of corrosive action from the ammonia?

I just keep it in plastic containers and lay under the camper, haven't noticed any corrosion. In a small confined area it could possibly cause an issue. Combine cab might not be the best place to use it
