Hello everyone can anyone tell me what year my crawler is? The cereal # is HD11S-7092 im also trying to find information on if the steering clutches are supposed to be wet or dry. One of the steering breaks doesn't work so while in the process of adjusting them i discovered one side had oil in it and the other side the plug was missing and didn't have have oil in it. The side without oil is the side that is working. My plan is to clean the compartments out with solvent and adjust the break bands correctly. I have a hdll manual that says to tighten the nut to 80 ft lbs then back off 2 1/2 turns. But the book i have doesn't say hd11s so im not 100% that this would be the same procedure would apply for my model/serial #

Dry clutches. S just means 6 roller undercarriage with light guarding (economy model basically). Adjustment will be the same. Washing the clutch with solvent should work- some people install the plug with a hole drilled through it, then a cotter pin through the hole, which “wiggles” to keep it from plugging..

Ok great i will wash the clutch housings with solvent and then try them out. I wonder if someone filled one side with oil mistakenly or is it possible there is oil from the transmission leaking into the steering clutch compartment ?
